CONCEPT

This program, created by BT the Chef, draws on over 20 years of culinary and hospitality experience. As a former JROTC member, I gained valuable skills in discipline and accountability, which I now aspire to instill in participants. The program is designed to provide structure and support for those seeking a fresh perspective on their potential, from kitchen organization to perfect plating.

 

Culinary arts can transform lives, offering second chances through dedication and teamwork. Our work-study initiative at Fresh Elements emphasizes accountability, team-building, and daily meditation while prioritizing mental health. We teach the fundamentals of cooking, from knife skills to essential techniques, helping students build a solid foundation for their culinary careers. Ultimately, we aim to reshape mindsets, demonstrating that with discipline and teamwork, anything is achievable.

^^^Volunteering as a chef mentor for Foo Society, an LGBTQA youth non-profit organization, where I guide participants in exploring culinary creativity. Together, we develop food projects, prepare dishes, and host dining demonstrations. The program also includes lessons on dining placement and etiquette, equipping participants with skills for both the kitchen and the table.
